Rising from the Ashes: One Woman’s Strength Journey After Losing Everything
Some people find strength in the gym. Others find strength in overcoming life’s biggest challenges. For Dr. Jasmine R. Campa, the two go hand in hand.
When the devastating LA wildfires tore through her neighborhood, she and her family lost everything—their home, their belongings, their sense of normalcy. But amidst the destruction, one thing remained standing: the frame of her Hyper Pro, still in vertical storage mode, a symbol of resilience in the face of devastation.
For many, rebuilding after such a loss might begin with finding shelter, replacing essentials, or simply trying to process the shock. But for Jennifer, the first step was clear—rebuilding her home gym.
Because for her, strength training isn’t just about fitness, it’s about survival.
A Lifetime of Strength
Fitness has always been a part of Jasmine’s life. She first fell in love with movement as a kid, working out to Jane Fonda videos in the 80s and dedicating herself to gymnastics. That passion only grew stronger over the years, leading her to become a certified spin instructor, a role she embraced for 20 years while continuing to explore new ways to move, train, and stay strong.
Outside of fitness, Jasmine serves her community as a county hospital physical therapist, caring for those who need it most. Her days are spent helping underserved populations, ensuring they receive the medical care they deserve. Strength, for her, isn’t just physical—it’s woven into everything she does.
Building Strength at Home
As someone who has always been serious about training, Jasmine knew that having a home gym would be key to staying consistent. She was drawn to the Hyper Pro after discovering Ben Patrick (aka Knees Over Toes Guy) and learning about the importance of bulletproofing the body for longevity.
The Hyper Pro became an essential part of her routine, allowing her to train Nordics, Reverse Hypers, Back Extensions, and more—all in one compact machine.
Then, the fire changed everything.
Losing Everything—And Choosing to Rebuild
The LA wildfires ripped through Jasmine’s neighborhood, consuming everything in their path. In an instant, her family’s home, the place she had built her life was gone.
And yet, when the smoke cleared, something incredible happened.
The frame of her Hyper Pro remained standing, untouched amidst the wreckage. A silent reminder of resilience. Of strength. Of the life she refused to let go of.
Instead of dwelling on the loss, Jasmine decided she would not let this get in the way of her devotion to fitness.
She would start rebuilding, and her home gym would be the first step.
A Gift of Strength
When we heard Jasmine’s story, we were in awe of her unwavering commitment to training, even in the face of unimaginable loss.
So, we knew what we had to do.
We helped to get her a new Hyper Pro ASAP.
Because fitness isn’t just about building muscle, it’s about building resilience, discipline, and the ability to keep moving forward—no matter what life throws at you.
Now, as she rebuilds her home from the ground up, she’s doing it with the same determination and grit that have carried her through decades of training.
Her story is a testament to strength, both inside and outside of the gym.
Strength is More Than a Workout—It’s a Mindset
Jasmine could have given up. She could have waited, put fitness on the back burner, and focused on other things. But instead, she chose to prioritize her strength.
Because when life knocks you down, strength is what helps you stand back up.
We’re honored to be part of her journey, and we hope her story inspires others to keep pushing forward—no matter what obstacles stand in the way.
